President Faure expresses condolences to Iran following act of Terrorism

USPA NEWS - Following the twin attacks on the parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran and on the mausoleum of Ayatollah Khomeini in the country's capital, Tehran, perpetrated by the so called islamic state, killing at least 12 people and injuring others, President Danny Faure has sent a message of condolence to his Iranian counterpart, President Hassan Rouhani on behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Seychelles.

According to BBC, "The Islamic State (IS) group has said it carried out the attacks, which would be a first in Iran. Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guards accused Saudi Arabia and the US of being behind the attacks. "This terrorist action, coming one week after the meeting of the president of the United States with the leader of the one of the region's reactionary governments (Saudi Arabia)... shows they are involved in this savage action," it said in a statement.------------------------------ The US state department condemned the attack, saying "the depravity of terrorism has no place in a peaceful civilised world". In his message President Faure expressed his deep sorrow for the lives lost and reaffirmed that Seychelles stood with Iran in these dark moments.
