USPA NEWS - During his historic visit in Lagos in Nigeria on Wednesday, July,4Th His .Excellency. Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic engage with nearly 2,000 Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) alumni during an exclusive interactive session, alongside other entrepreneurs in the ecosystem and Tony Elumelu Foundation Mentors. The historic event took place at the Eko Hotels and Suites, on 1415 Adetokunbo Ademola Street.
In the meanwhile of the vibrant interactive session moderated by TEF Founder and UBA Chairman, Tony Elumelu, His Excellency Emmanuel Macron, President of French Republic share his experience with Young African Entrepreneurs, as one of the Youngest Heads of the States in recent time.
His Excellency Emmanuel Macron had a direct conversation with attendees, spoke to them about how their success in Entrepreneurship can lead to Africa´s Development. Stood side by side in front of over 2000 young African Entrepreneurs, Tony Elumelu and His Excellency Emmanuel Macron engage in a direct conversation with attendees.
According to Tony Elumelu, the collaboration between the French President and his Foundation is a result of President Macron´s recognition that African entrepreneurs are the key to Africa´s economic transformation and his desire to connect with and elevate the voices of future leaders
While in Nigeria, President Macron visited Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari attend a business Forum with French business leaders, a luncheon with the 30 top Nigerian private sector leaders and a cultural event at Fela´s New Africa Shrine.
Launched in 2015, The Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme is the largest African philanthropic initiative devoted to entrepreneurship and represents their 10-year, $100 million commitment to identify and empower 10.000 African entrepreneurs, create a million jobs, and add $10 billion in revenues to Africa´s economy.

The Tony Elumelu Foundation´s mission is to catalyze economic and social development in Africa through entrepreneurship, focusing on three areas:
-The empowerment of entrepreneurs through capacity development, seed capital, mentoring and networking.
-The promotion of thought leadership in entrepreneurship through advocacy and evidence-based research as a guide for policymakers across African governments.
-The creation of an integrated entrepreneurial ecosystem that promotes African entrepreneurship.
