USPA NEWS - The Red Arrows are the aerobatic Squadron of the Royal Air Force.
Nicknamed the "Reds", the team consists of 9 pilots, 91 support staff and are based at RAF Scampton Air Base.
The Red Arrows, are one of the top aerobatic teams in the world. Their team motto is "Excellence" and displays speed, precise maneuvers and an impeccable team spirit in every performance.
Recognized throughout the world by their red, white and blue exhaust trails, the Reds are not only ambassadors for the United Kingdom, but also the face of the Royal Air Force.

After a three days of traveling across the Atlantic Ocean, the Red Arrows arrive in Halifax to be greeted by a bright sunny afternoon and an enthusiastic crowd of spectators. One could hear the thunderous sound of the Rolls-Royce single engine that powers each of the 12 Hawk T1 jets as they approach the Halifax Stanfield International Airport. The Reds do a fly past over the airfield releasing their red, blue and white smoke trail before landing on Runway 23.

Halifax, Nova Scotia is the first stop on the Red Arrows 2019 North American Tour and are scheduled to be in the area from August 7th to August 11th. Throughout the visit, the public will have a chance to participate in events that will educate through a documentary and personal interaction with pilots, engineers and ground crew. The Discovery Centre-Dome Theatre in Downtown Halifax will have screenings of The Red Arrows:Kings Of The Sky which is the first in a series of documentaries that tell the story of the Red Arrows Squadron and their world famous, aerobatic displays.There will also be a series of events at the UK Pop Up Pavilion located on the Halifax waterfront which will include interactive displays, souvenirs and samples of British snack treats.

All of the special events being held are leading up to the finale which will be an air display over the Halifax Harbour on Sunday August 11th, commencing at 2pm This event will include RCAF aircraft along with RAF aircraft. The RCAF aircraft to be included in the air display will be a CH-146 Griffon, CH-148 Cyclone, CH 149 Cormorant as well as a CC-130 Hercules and a CP-140 Aurora. The RAF display will start with an A400M transport aircraft doing a pass over the waterfront before the Red Arrows conduct a number of special fly pasts leaving a trail of their famous red, white and blue smoke. This is sure to be an air display rarely seen over the Halifax Harbour.

Air Show and aviation enthusiasts in Atlantic Canada have been  enjoying  an exciting  summer with the Snowbirds Over Debert and the Red Arrows Over Halifax. Can it get any better than this? The answer is yes! The excitement will continue with the Atlantic Canada International Air Show to be held at 14 Wing CFB Greenwood on Labour Day weekend which will feature the United States Navy's Blue Angels flight demonstration squadron.
